Jax is a man that has been through the school of hard knocks. Once an Egyptian slave, he chooses vampirism in order to escape the clutches of slavery. Avery Johnson is a woman on the run. Once at the top of the political world, now framed for a high-profile murder, she finds solace in the arms of a vampire. It just happens to be the wrong vampire, one who plans on converting her.
